Do you know what your Blood Glucose and Cholesterol levels currently are? You should - both have a direct correlation to either diabetes mellitus, stroke, or heart disease.

Blood Glucose

  • Your blood glucose level is an indication of the amount of glucose (sugar) in the blood. Some cells in your body (brain, red blood cells) are almost totally dependent on blood glucose as a source of energy. A normal blood glucose range is 64 to 110 mg/dL (milligrams per deciliter).

Cholesterol

  • Your cholesterol level is an indication of the amount of a soft, wax-like, fatty substance found in your bloodstream and all of your body's cells. Too high a level of cholesterol in the blood is a major risk for coronary heart disease, which leads to heart attack. It's also a risk factor for stroke. A desirable cholesterol level would be under 200 mg/dL (milligrams per deciliter).

Our staff at the HealthFitness Athletic Club are professionally trained to administer a venipuncture (finger prick) test to draw a small amount a blood that is then loaded into a monitor that can accurately read your blood glucose and cholesterol levels.
